What we believe

The absolute best way to understand and learn about any community is to experience it on the relational level. Statements of faith can tell you what a community of faith's beliefs are, but they can't tell you who they are. If you'd like to discover who we are at PBC, please come to our morning service on Sundays.

What does PBC believe about the Scriptures?

We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit to write words of Scripture. The Bible is without error in all that it affirms.

What does PBC believe about God?

We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). We believe that Jesus Christ is the second member of the Trinity (the Son of God) who became flesh to reveal God to man and to become the Saviour of the lost world.

What does PBC believe about mankind?

We believe that man was created in the image of God to have fellowship with Him, but became alienated from that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, man is totally incapable of coming back into a right relationship with God by his own effort.


What does PBC believe about salvation?

We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sins. Therefore, salvation only occurs when a person places his faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as the sufficient payment for his sin.


What does PBC believe about the Christian life?

We believe that every Christian should live for Christ and not for himself. By obedience to the Word and daily yielding to the Holy Spirit, every believer will mature and become conformed to the image of Christ.

What does PBC believe about the church?

We believe that the church is the body of Christ of which Jesus Christ is the Head. The members are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving Him and by making Him known to a lost world.

When Jazz Meets Gospel - Saturday 1st February 2020

The Gary Wood Quintet with Dan Foster invite you to Pembury Baptist Church for 'When Jazz meets Gospel', an evening of jazz and gospel music.  Come along on Saturday 1st February to this free event starting at 7.30pm - it's likely to be busy so please do come in time to get seated.  It would help for catering if you could let the Church office know how many of you are attending by emailing office@pemburybaptistchurch.org or calling 01892 825590 (leave a message if there is no answer).  We look forward to seeing you there!


Seeking His Face - 8-9pm every Wednesday

Rob Smith is opening the church for an hour every Wednesday evening from 8pm - 9pm to enable us to 'seek God's face' informally.  1 Chronicles 7:14 advises us, 'if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways then I will hear from heaven and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.'  All are welcome to join in this search for God's presence in turning to Him.  


Pembury Messy Church - Saturday 8th Febuary 2020

The next Pembury Messy Church will be at Pembury Baptist Church on Saturday 8th February from 11am-1pm.  Messy Church is a free event for all the family - you'll find a mixture of Christian themed craft, activities, talk, song and food.  Please do book in and let us know any allergies by calling 01892 825590 or by emailing office@pemburybaptistchurch.org.  You can also book through St Peter's Church Office on 824761 or emailing office@pemburychurch.net.


Kingdom Cafe - Saturday 15th February

Kingdom Cafe opens on Saturday 15th February between 10am and 2pm.  Kingdom Cafe opens every third Saturday of the month throughout the year for free cake, refreshments and conversation.  Books are available to borrow and browse.  Children have their own table for colouring. Do come along, bring a friend or come alone, be quiet or enjoy the company!


PBC Prayer Meeting - Tuesday 4th February

PBC's Church Prayer Meetings are usually held on the first Tuesday of every month in the Church Foyer, starting at 8pm.  The next one is Tuesday 4th February.  Do come along and worship our living God through prayer and word. For more information on prayer at PBC, click on the heading, then on 'here'.
