The Hanes

We are a diverse group consisting of about 20 members with average weekly attendance of about 8-10 people. All the members attend, but cannot necessarily come each week although we make a point of praying for everyone each week and encourage email communication of prayer needs.

We meet in Pembury most weeks. The meetings are usually led by David and Rosemary but from time to time others take on this responsibility.

We meet to be with each other and with God and spend the evening worshipping, sharing, praying and studying the Bible.

Two or three times a year we have a social evening which revolves around eating together. In the summer we have a BBQ and whenever the weather allows we try to meet outside.

Some comments from members follow:

"We're good about finishing on time!" Steve

"It's my support during the week"

"I've been coming here since it started (in 1989) and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else"

"We're all here for each other"

"It's our small church family"

"Difficult ideas become crystal clear as we discuss them"

"I love the singing and praise at the beginning"

"We have a very stable core membership but love the refreshment of new members"

"We trust each other"

Harvest Service and Frugal Lunch - Sunday 30th September

All are welcome to attend a Frugal Lunch on Sunday 24th September, following the Harvest Celebration service at Pembury Baptist Church.  The Harvest service will be very suitable for families, led by Pastor Dan Foster.
The Frugal Lunch will be free but we hope that you will donate the cost that you might spend on a full roast dinner, to be given to a Harvest cause.  The actual charity will be announced nearer the time.  Please do book yourselves in either by signing up in the Church Foyer or by email to office@pemburybaptistchurch.org (note any food intolerance please).

Kingdom Cafe is on Saturday 22nd September opening between 10am and 2pm.  Kingdom Cafe usually opens every third Saturday of the month (except this month due to a wedding) throughout the year for free cake, refreshments and conversation.  Books are available to borrow and browse.  Children have their own table for colouring. Do come along, bring a friend or come alone, be quiet or enjoy the company - just relax!
