Get Help

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. " Matthew 11:28

At PBC we are committed to caring for one another in every season of life. Part of the joy of sharing together as the people of God is to share one another's burdens in every circumstance of life.

We want to ensure that all who are in need have someone alongside them; someone pointing them to the love, compassion and healing of Jesus and offering practical help, prayer and advice.

Pastoral care is available in our church on a number of levels. When people attend our church regularly they are encouraged to join small groups, which are an important focus for pastoral care. Meanwhile, at a church wide level, pastoral care is available from pastoral visitors. some willing to be contacted on a confidential basis.

To talk with one of the Pastoral Care Team, please phone the Office on 01892 825590, asking for Jennifer who will put you in touch with the right person for your need.

Seeking His Face - 8-9pm every Wednesday

Rob Smith is opening the church for an hour every Wednesday evening from 8pm - 9pm to enable us to 'seek God's face' informally.  1 Chronicles 7:14 advises us, 'if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways then I will hear from heaven and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.'  All are welcome to join in this search for God's presence in turning to Him.

Harvest Celebration and Frugal Lunch - Sunday 20th October

PBC are holding their Harvest Celebration starting at 10am on Sunday 20th October.  You can donate food for the Community Larder, money to support those in war torn Sudan who are still suffering and worship God in this all age service.  Following the service, you can stop for a frugal lunch, a bowl of soup, bread and some other nibbles to remember those who don't have the resources that we do.  All are welcome so do come along and share in this Harvest Celebration with everyone.

Dementia - The Facts - Thursday 24th October at 7.30pm

Christine Parker of TDFC attached to the Alzheimers Society is coming to give us the facts about dementia, a disease that affects 850,000 people in the UK, between 5-8% of the population.  Many of us have relatives or friends with dementia and it is possible to help people live with dementia if more is known about this disease.  Our free event is on Thursday 24th October at 7.30pm at Pembury Baptist Church.  There will be a talk followed by nibbles and drinks during which time you can ask questions of Chris about dementia that may be more personal to you and your family.  Please contact Jennifer on 01892 825590 or email her to book your space(s) on office@pemburybaptistchurch.org.
